I know at low level without access to the roamers or pokegear it's difficult to check which seed I actually hit, so what I did was search every seed +/-50 from my target, and copy the spreads and natures into a spreadsheet. Pressing A on the machine should generate the starters, on frames 1, 5 & 9, and if I hit the timers correctly, Totodile should be shiny. If what I've learned is correct, there's no random frame advances in the lab, so I should load into my game at frame 0.Load the save at the expiry of the second timer. I've been attempting to manip for a shiny Totodile on my newly acquired copy of Soul Silver (last game I needed to complete my full set of games, hooray!), but not having much luck.
